How is We Hear Her breaking barriers to care?
We are providing solutions to systemic barriers to maternal and mental health care:
By partnering with payers (insurance systems and employers) we lower the cost of care and increase access.
Remote care increases the pool of available providers. Over one-third of Americans live in areas lacking mental health professionals, particularly specializing in perinatal mental health.
Providing continuity of care - we ensure providers across all areas of your care connect consistently to formulate care plans that work, from your in-office OB/Gyn to your remote doula, lactation specialist, and mental health provider.
Multilingual providers serve those who speak Spanish and the Deaf community.
Examining and breaking down the barriers of racism, bias, and discrimination within the healthcare systems and also within ourselves through advocacy, research, training, & policy are at the heart of our mission.
Remote access to care allows those with lack of transportation, child care, paid leave, or time off from work to seamlessly integrate our services into their lives, where they live, on their schedule.
Our vision of providing continuity of care means we build trusting, long-term relationships with clients and payors.
Equitable and intentional hiring ensures that We Hear Her Team members reflect the diversity and needs of those we serve. Everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and connected to their care providers.
Can I replace my OB/Gyn with We Hear Her?
We Hear Her’s licensed team are trained in Mental Health and Women’s Health specialties, however we recommend our clients have established care with an OB/Gyn or Midwifery practice for women’s health visits, exams such as breast cancer screening and pap smears, vaccinations, medical prescriptions such as antibiotics, lab testing, which we do not provide remotely at We Hear Her.
If you have a medical emergency, call 911, we recommend that you visit urgent care or an ER.
Why should I sign a Release of Information for my primary care and women’s health providers?
Your team at We Hear Her will connect with your women’s health provider if you choose to sign an Release of Information. This way we can coordinate and collaborate on care, advocate for your women’s health and wellness needs, remind you of important screenings and lab work, etc.
